John F. Kennedy once said, “We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” Over the last few months, we have been reminded of the blessings in our lives and especially in that of Jim's. Though we may not ever be able to say thank you to each and every person who offered comfort to us, please know that our family is eternally grateful for the support you have shown to us over the last few months as we grieved the loss of Dad. We are grateful for the blessings each of you brought to his life whether you knew him for only a short time or over the many years he worked with WSC. One thing is for sure, Jim's work with and for WSC was never just about soccer, it was always about developing relationships, about doing the right thing, and leading by example. Your support of him and of our family is testimony to each of these things. Knowing that you share in our loss is comforting, and your kindness has reminded each of us about the power of kind words and the strength that comes from positive energy.
In our lifetime, each of us aspires to leave behind a legacy that lasts long beyond our time on earth. For Jim, that legacy evolved over the many years during which his love of soccer evolved, and as he relentlessly pursued what was right, what was fair and what was good for his community. No matter how big or small the task, Jim was a fearless leader and passionate advocate for kids.
Thank you for sharing Dad's life with us and we hope as time goes on that you continue to love life as he did. Each of you will hold a special place in our hearts and we look forward to watching WSC continue to grow and to thrive.
With sincere gratitude,
