Code of Conduct
As a PLAYER...
I will respect the game and all teammates, opponents, coaches and referees.
I will display sportsmanship whether winning or losing.
I will not address or comment on the decisions made by the referee.
I will not use profanity, abusive language, hate speech or obscene gestures.
I will clean up after myself at all fields and facilities.
I will keep a positive attitude, have fun and enjoy the game.
I will never strike a staff member, match official or person in attendance. I will never strike a player outside the bounds of the Laws of the Game, regardless of if the action is disciplined on the field or at practice. Players may be subject to supplemental discipline upon review of any red cards for physical acts, violations of US Soccer’s Referee Abuse Prevention Policy (current Policy 531-9) or its successor policies whether directed at a referee or another person or for actions that would warrant discipline under either scenario, regardless of if the action is disciplined on the field or at practice. Examples include, but are not limited to, violent and/or unnecessary contact with another player, spitting at or on another person, head-butting, throwing punches towards another person regardless of contact and derogatory, harassing, threatening, violent or discriminatory language.
As a COACH...
On Game Days:
I will respect the game and all players, coaches, spectators and referees.
I will maintain fair play and uphold the laws of the game.
I will respect the decisions of the referees.
I will not participate in or tolerate offensive behavior or bad language.
I will be gracious in either victory or defeat.
I will make sure the bench and facility or field is clean at the conclusion of the game.
On Training Days:
I will make sure safety and enjoyment of the game is a priority.
I will never allow bullying.
I will make sure developmental activities reflect the age and ability of the player.
I will do my best to develop the talents of every player on my team and help them learn the principles of good sportsmanship.
I will leave the field clean after a training session.
As a Parent, Guardian or Spectator...
I will respect all players, coaches, spectators and referees.
I will always stay behind the touchline.
I will not coach the players from the sideline.
I will never address the players from the opposing team.
I will never engage in offensive or abusive language in any circumstance.
I will not use alcohol, drugs or tobacco products at a practice, game or tournament.
I will bring any perceived problems to the coach in private.
Travel Program Policies
1. I agree that parents, guardians, coaches, players and spectators must refrain from derogatory or offensive language or actions directed to other players, coaches, officials, parents, guardians and spectators.
2. I am aware that Warrington Soccer Club prohibits harassment, discrimination, physical misconduct, bullying and hazing and am subject to disciplinary action that could result in suspension or expulsion from the club if I participate in this conduct.
3. If I have an issue with the coach (playing time, game strategy, etc.) the issue will never be addressed during a game. This will be addressed in a respectful manner at a later time. If I am not satisfied with the outcome of the discussion with the coach, I will contact the Director of the specific program.
4. As a parent or guardian of the above named minor, I give my approval for his or her participation in any and all activities included in this program. My child has received a physical examination by a licensed medical practitioner in the last 12 months, and has been found physically capable of participating in this program.
5. In the case of an injury or emergency, and in my absence, I hereby give my consent for my child to receive medical assistance or treatment. I release, absolve and hold harmless Warrington Soccer Club, its officers, staff, volunteers and sponsors from any and all claims of injury and I assume all responsibility for medical treatment for my child.
