WSC Intramural Program
Soccer is a game for everybody and the WSC Intramural program provides skill development and playing opportunities for all non travel players ranging from u5 to u19.
The key objectives of the WSC Intramural program are:
Provide a FUN soccer experience for all players
If it's fun the players will be motivated to keep playing and hopefully will stay in the WSC program throughout their youth soccer careers.
Provide age appropriate skill development activities for the players as they move through the age groups
This is mainly accomplished by our DOC structuring training programs and working in collaboration with professional trainers and our volunteer parent coaches to effectively present these programs to the players.
Provide effective transition from the Intramural program for those players who wish to play travel soccer
Our Futures training, pre-travel and Select programs all offer playing opportunities for those players who want to be challenged and eventually transition into travel team play. Please note that the Futures training is open to all players from the relevant age groups, not just those wishing to play travel.
Provide a fun and effective Intramural program for players who do not wish to play travel soccer
We want to make sure that those players who want to keep playing, but are not interested in the more intense travel environment, are encouraged to stay in our Intramural program and continue to play at the club until they age out.
Warrington Soccer Club is a community club aiming to foster a lifelong love of the sport while helping our member families and players build memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
What is the difference between Intramural and Recreational Soccer?
Intramural aka IM - This means they play in-house only. Games are 4v4.
U5 (2020-2021) - On session on Sundays. Parent/child, COED.
U6 (2019) - One Age Group Practice (AGP) a week, no team practices Fall or Spring. COED.
U8 (2017-2018) - Girls/Boys, one AGP a week plus one team practice in the Fall. One AGP in Spring, team practices are at the coaches' discretion in the Spring.
Recreational aka REC - This means we play other Clubs. Our Warrington teams play in the SEPA REC league.
In the Fall U10 has one weekly AGP (Age Group Practice) and one team practice. In the Spring there is a weekly AGP and optional team practice.
In the Fall, U12-U19 will have two team practices, with some flexibility allowing for the older teams to drop this down to one practice that is longer per week. AGP's are offered on some Fridays for this age group. In the Spring, U12-U19 will have a weekly AGP and optional team practice.
Birth Years are for the 2024/25 seasonal year.
Registration for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 is based on birth year, even if your child had a birthday during the season.
