WSC Return To Play Guidelines - EPYSA Stage 4

Warrington Soccer Club Return to Play - Stage IV

Warrington’s travel soccer teams have moved through Stage I, II, and III and effective September 1st, 2020 the club will be transitioning to Stage IV. The below guidelines apply to all programs (intramural and travel) operated by Warrington Soccer Club. Based on review of CDC, EPYSA, APL, EDP, and ICSL league guidelines Warrington Soccer Club has created the below guidelines for participation for Stage IV.

Self Health Assessment

All players, coaches, and administrators on their own, or with the assistance of a parent or guardian, shall conduct a self-health assessment before each practice session or scheduled game. If any player, coach, or administrator is not feeling well, the individual must stay home. Protecting our community and our ability to continue playing relies on all members and opponents following this simple guideline without exception.

Communication Protocols

All club members and opponents must follow the club’s Covid-19/Coronavirus Communication Protocols. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of your membership in the club and/or ability to participate at facilities utilized by the club.

Health and Safety Reporting

  1. All suspected or confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 by players, coaches, administrators or their household contacts, must promptly report the details to healthsafety@warringtonsoccerpa.org. Established protocols will be followed and the Health Safety Committee will provide guidance for return to play and, where necessary, notification to exposed members.
  2. Any contact with a person suspected or confirmed positive with Covid-19 by a player, coach, administrator, or household contact must also be promptly reported to healthsafety@warringtonsoccerpa.org. Established protocols will be followed and the Health Safety Committee will provide guidance for return to play and, where necessary, notification to exposed members.
  3. Attendance will be taken at all organized team activities whether at Warrington Soccer facilities or off-site. The health questionnaire questions shall continue to be taken as part of attendance.
  4. Attendance shall be submitted to attendance@warringtonsoccerpa.org promptly after the organized team activity.
  5. Out of state travel shall be governed by the state’s restricted travel list. International travel will be governed by the State Department’s travel advisories. Players and players with household contacts traveling from restricted states or internationally with a CDC Level 1 Covid-19 risk category or higher may not participate for 14 days.

Facilities

Currently, Warrington Soccer utilizes township fields in Warrington, Doylestown, and Warwick in conjunction with Central Bucks School District (CBSD) facilities. Each of these entities may have individual restrictions that vary and Warrington Soccer is committed to following the individual guidelines.

Major differences between township parks and CBSD fields:

  • Township parks allow spectators with social distancing for all ages.
    1. Please use discretion to limit the number of family/extended family that attend.
    2. We understand that many families enjoy attending games, however we need to continue to monitor overall numbers at fields and maintain a minimum of 6 feet distance between family groups.
    3. Each team may not have more than 40 people total per game at games played on one of the Turk fields. This includes players, spectators and coaches for a maximum of 80 attendees per field location. Referees are not included in this count.
  • CBSD is not allowing spectators for ages above elementary school age.
    1. For elementary school children one parent/guardian is allowed to attend and watch.
    2. The older ages are drop off or observe from vehicle (grade 7 and greater).

Requirements in common for all facilities during games, scrimmages (including within the club) and friendlies:

  1. Players, coaches, and spectators are required to wear a mask/face covering per state of Pennsylvania, sanctioning bodies, and leagues to and from their car to sidelines.
  2. Players may remove masks during soccer activities and breaks for water/food. During games, substitutes are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing of at least 6ft apart.
  3. Spectators are required to wear masks per EPYSA guidelines.
  4. Masks for coaches are required until lifted by the state association on sideline and social distancing is not maintained. Masks may be removed during breaks and where social distancing can be maintained. Note that all leagues currently require coaches to wear masks during the entirety of games.
  5. Attendance of participants and screening questions will continue for contact tracing at all activities (practices and games).

League specific guidelines:

  1. League guidelines will be followed at facilities or more stringent guidelines of facilities during play.
  2. ICSL guidelines are referenced on the home page: (http://www.icslsoccer.org)
  3. EDP guidelines/references are available here: (https://www.edpsoccer.com/return-to-play)
  4. Other leagues that teams are participating in should review guidelines.

Practice specific guidelines:

  1. All players, coaches and spectators must wear masks to and from cars to the practice fields.
  2. Spectators may attend practices. Masks must be worn to and from cars to the practice fields and when social distance cannot be maintained in compliance with the state’s universal face covering requirement.
  3. Coaches may remove masks when not directly addressing teams and social distance of 6 feet can be maintained while coaching. Coaches actively participating in drills or practicing may remove their mask.
