WSC Return To Play Guidelines - EPYSA Stage 4

Warrington Soccer Club Return to Play - Stage IV

Warrington Soccer Club has successfully moved through Stage I, II, III and IV of our Return to Play Guidelines. At this time, we are revising our Stage IV protocols to better reflect the current COVID-19 climate and the updated PA and EPYSA guidelines. These protocols apply to all programs (intramural and travel) operated by WSC and will take effect on November 18, 2020.

All club members and opponents are required to follow WSC’s guidelines. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of your club membership and/or the ability of you, or your player, to participate at WSC facilities. Protecting our community and continuing to play is our primary goal - this relies on all members and opponents following the guidelines without exception.

Health Safety Assessment and Reporting

  1. Attendance will be taken at all organized team activities whether at WSC facilities or off-site. A health questionnaire shall continue to be a part of attendance.
  2. All players, coaches, and spectators shall conduct a self-health assessment before each practice and/or game. If any player, coach, or spectator is not feeling well, the individual must stay home.
  3. Out of state and international travel shall be governed by Pennsylvania’s travel guidelines. Coaches, players and players with household members that travel for work or vacation will need to provide the traveler’s negative test to the Health Safety Committee in order to waive the quarantine. Coaches and players with household members that commute daily to a different state are not affected by this travel guideline.
  4. The following scenarios require an immediate report to your head coach and the Health Safety Committee at healthsafety@warringtonsoccerpa.org:
    • a player or coach with a COVID-19 positive, or presumptive positive, diagnosis;
    • a player or coach that has been identified as a “close contact” of an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19; and,
    • a player or coach with a household member that has been identified as a “close contact” of an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19.
  5. In all of the above scenarios, established protocols will be followed, and the Health Safety Committee will provide guidance for return to play. As a rule, a player or coach that has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been identified as a “close contact” will only be permitted to return to play after they complete a 14 day quarantine and test negative for COVID-19. Due to the nature of COVID-19, and the frequently changing guidelines, WSC looks at each report individually and treats each report as such.

Game and Scrimmage Guidelines

  1. Players, coaches and spectators are required to conduct a self-health assessment prior to each event following the Health Safety Assessment and Reporting above.
  2. Players and spectators will be instructed where to park and enter the field, prior to the match, via an email from a WSC coach or team manager.
  3. Players, coaches and spectators are required to wear a mask at all times.
  4. Players are to use their own equipment and shall not share water bottles or snacks.
  5. Handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, etc. are not permitted.
  6. Only ONE spectator per player is permitted to attend a game or scrimmage.
  7. Opposing teams and their families will set up on opposite sidelines. There will be a team area for the players and coaches near midfield. Spectators shall position themselves at a minimum of six feet from other spectators.
  8. Spectators should not arrive on the field more than five minutes prior to kickoff.
  9. Only coaches should touch and move equipment. Spectators should not assist with retrieving balls or moving equipment.
